CD-i Format

The CD-i format can be read by the CD-i computer system developed by Philips for multimedia applications and games. In other words, CD-i CDs require special playback equipment.

Special Requirements

    Consider these limitations:

    • To write a CD-i, you need a completely mastered CD-i CD image that contains the entire data and target files.
    • You cannot create CD-i links with Toast, or import ÒdyuvÓ files or videos into Toast.

Recording a CD in CD-i Format

If you prefer, you can skip steps 4 and 5 by simply dragging the CD-i disc image into the main window.

Write Disc closes the CD so that no data can be added at a later date. The alternative command, Write Session, is not recommended for CD-i format.

CD-i data cannot be verified after writing.

1 Click Other in the Toast window and hold down the mouse button.
2 Choose CD-i from the pop-up menu that appears.
3 In the CD-i window, click the Select button.
4 In the Standard File dialog box that appears, select the CD-i image you want and click Open.
    5 Click the Record button.
6 Insert a blank CD into your CD-Recorder.
7 In the Record dialog box, click Write Disc.
8 When you see the message, "Your disc is ready," click Eject.
