Making Video CDs from QuickTime Movies

If you receive a message stating that the file "...is not in a supported format," it has probably been compressed with the video and audio in a single track. Toast cannot convert this type of QuickTime file to Video CD.

Depending on your computer, encoding a Video CD file takes a whileÑabout 10 minutes to record 1 minute of video. If you drag in multiple QuickTime movies, after the first movie saves, you must click OK and Save for each movie in succession. If you have one long movie, you may want to let it encode overnight.

During encoding, a progress dialog box appears: When the encoding is complete, the files has been encoded as an MPEG files that appear in the Video CD window.

Video CD must be the first session of a CD. To verify that the inserted CD is indeed blank, choose Disc Info from the Recorder menu.

1 Click Other in the Toast window and hold down the mouse button.
2 Choose Video CD from the pop-up menu that appears.
3 Drag the QuickTime movie files to the Video CD window.
4 In the dialog box that appears, make your selections.
5 When youÕre finished, click OK. A Save Video CD Stream As dialog box appears.
6 Choose where you want to save the file and click Save.
7 Insert an blank CD into your CD-Recorder.
    8 Click the Record button.
9 In the Record dialog box, select an option:
    • If you want to add data to this CD later, click Write Session. (This is not recommended for Video CD format!)
    • To close the CD so that no further data can be added, click Write Disc.
10 When you see the message, "Your disc is ready," click Eject.
