Deleting songs from iPod

To delete a song from iPod, connect iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Select iPod in the iTunes source list, then select a song and press the Delete key on the keyboard. Don't use a disk utility program, such as Disk Utility or Drive Setup, to erase iPod. If you erase iPod this way, it may be unable to play music.

If automatic updating is enabled and you connect iPod to your computer, all songs on iPod that are not in the iTunes music library or in selected playlists are deleted. You must disable automatic updating to delete individual songs from iPod manually.
