| Using the iPod Power Adapter |
You can use the iPod Power Adapter to charge iPod's internal battery.
|
If necessary, connect the AC Plug Adapter to the power adapter. Connect the FireWire cable included with iPod to the power adapter, and plug the other end of the cable into iPod. Then plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. |
You can also charge iPod by connecting it to your computer. Click "Tell me more" below to learn more about charging iPod's battery.
Safety precautions: Use only Apple-brand, 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cables with iPod. Do not use other FireWire cables. Use only the iPod Power Adapter with iPod. Adapters for other devices may damage iPod. Always leave space around the power adapter for airflow. When connecting or disconnecting the power adapter, always hold it by its sides. Keep fingers away from the AC prongs. The power adapter is a high-voltage component and should not be opened for any reason, even when iPod is off. If the power adapter needs service, go to www.apple.com/support for more information. Never force a connector into the power adapter port. If the connector and port do not join with reasonable ease, they probably don't match.
