Storing phone numbers and addresses on iPod

You can store phone numbers, addresses, and other contact information on iPod, so you can have them handy when you're on the go.

To store contacts, connect iPod and open your favorite email or contacts application. Then, export contacts as vCard files and copy them to the Contacts folder on iPod. In most cases, you can do this by dragging contacts from the application's address book to iPod's Contacts folder. iPod must be enabled for use as a FireWire hard disk.

To view your contacts, unmount and disconnect iPod. Then select Contacts in the main menu.

Most popular email and contacts applications allow you to export contacts as vCard files, including Apple's Address Book (for Mac OS X), Microsoft Entourage, and Eudora.

If there is no Contacts folder on iPod, create a folder and name it Contacts, then drag vCard files into the folder.
