Managing files on your MP3 player

When you connect an MP3 player, it appears in the source list and iTunes shows its contents.

If you're using the Apple iPod and iTunes is set to update it, all songs that are selected in your iTunes library and playlists are automatically transferred to your iPod. You can also create and manage playlists on your iPod, edit song information, and transfer playlists from iTunes.

To remove a song from the player, select the song, then press the Delete key.

When you're transferring songs to your player, be sure that your computer does not go to sleep.

Your player may let you do other tasks, such as naming folders and formatting memory cards. Buttons for these features appear in the bottom-right section of the iTunes window. To learn more about the buttons, choose Show Balloons from the Help menu, then move your pointer over the buttons.
