Sharing your Mac OS X music library with iTunes for Mac OS 9

You can share your iTunes music library between Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.

To share your Mac OS X iTunes music library:

If there's already an iTunes folder in the Documents folder on your Mac OS 9 startup disk, drag it to the Trash. Make an alias of the iTunes folder that is inside the Documents folder in your Mac OS X home. Drag the alias to the Documents folder on your Mac OS 9 startup disk. Change the name of the alias from "iTunes alias" to "iTunes."

The iTunes folder contains the iTunes Music Library file and the iTunes Music folder with your encoded songs.
