MacTCP 3.0.0 is a Claude modified version of MacTCP 2.0.6 that should now support DHCP. It has not been extensively tested, but it has been tested and confirmed to work on my home network, WiFi hotspot on my phone, and on a public network. Please test the application and report back if it works or not! NOTE: This was modified by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. Use at your own risk. I am not a programmer, and cannot test all edge cases, and this was only made so I could connect my machines to networks that do not support static IP addresses. Installation Instructions: - Copy or download the MacTCP 3.0.0 DHCP.bin file onto your Macintosh. - Extract the MacTCP application using Stuffit 4.0.2 (open Stuffit Extractor and select "Extract" and open the .bin file). - Drag the MacTCP application file to your System Folder. The system should prompt you asking if you want to place it in the Control Panels folder- select yes. - Refer to other instructions on using MacTCP- set Gateway to 0.0.0.0 and select "Server" as the option for obtaining the IP address. It should automatically set the Gateway and Subnet when it connects. - You may need to set the DNS server manually- I use 8.8.8.8 (google.com) as my default. When you open an application that needs the internet (NCSA Telnet, Netscape, NiftyTelnet, etc.) it should send the DHCP request and get an IP address! You can install Wireshark on a modern machine, set the filter to bootp, and see the negotiation happen in real time. Updated October 12, 2026 Jeremiah Bogner Bogner Systems http://bognersystems.com
