The Netscape Chat Service is a set of tools for communicating multimedia information in real time over the Internet. Historically, real-time chat conversations over the Internet have been restricted to textual communication. For example, the standard Internet Relay Chat (IRC) supports only multi-user, multi-channel, text-based connections between users across the entire Internet community. Like the IRC Chat, the Netscape Chat Service is based on an operational client/server model. It consists of the Chat Server software and Netscape Chat. With Netscape Chat (the client software of the Netscape Chat Service), you can turn your Netscape Navigator into a multi-media conferencing tool. Netscape Chat runs along side the Navigator. con tray option, WinTalk will appear only as a small icon in the ‘tray’ area of your taskbar. Clicking on the icon will bring up the WinTalk main menu.
