http://mkn.co.uk/help/system/horse The Internet WorkHorse From MarketNet The Internet WorkHorse is under development by MarketNet. It is being released for beta test. It has been tested with Windows 95 and has passed the full key generation testing. What is WorkHorse? A program written for MarketNet to facilitate Internet Commerce. The program requires Microsoft Windows 3.1 with a WINSOCK.DLL (such as Trumpet). The program includes the following features: 128 bit RC4 available - MarketNet are now making the fully secure 128 bit SSL protocol available outside the US. Netscape have been forbidden to export the 128 bit protocol by the US government. This means that UK companies can neither import the secure server nor can individuals purchase copies of the secure client. MarketNet have developed the browser in Internet WorkHorse to allow people to have a secure client. The MarketNet server will operate 128 bit RC4 if required. The Browser in Internet WorkHorse is not as good as Netscape for browsing, but it does allow the fully secure protocol to be used. It can also be used to link between secure servers in the US and sites outside the US. Security Level Indicators both the browser and the Marketnet servers have a security level indicator that tells you what level of RC4 implementation is being used and also the length of the RSA key being used by the SSL implementation. Electronic Cheques - in accordance with the MarketNet Internet Draft WorkHorse will generate Electronic instructions and sign them. Using WorkHorse people can also check the signature on electronic instructions that they receive. Secure Simple Mail Transfer Protocol - with the SSL protocol applied to mail transmissions WorkHorse can ensure that mail is transferred from machine to machine through the internet without people being able to identify credit card numbers or personal information. Unlike PEM or PGP the transmission itself is encrypted the protocols used are SMTP and SSL PGP Compatibility - As well as SSMTP the program will include a limited amount of PGP compatibility to enable the receipt and transmission of PGP encrypted mail. We will also allow a PGP format for signing electronic instructions. HTML browsing. A text HTML browser with SSL and form filling capabilities. It does deal with images, but not very well. Internet Toolbox. A big number hexadecimal calculator and BER decoding routines using the Windows clipboard to assist developers in viewing secure documents. HTML Extensions. To enable effective usage of the above a number of extensions to HTML have been parsed in workhorse. Conference Server - Workhorse will operate as a conference server allowing communications (chats) between a number of participants through TCPIP. SSMTP - Secure Simple Mail Transmission Protocol SSMTP uses port 465 to open a secure SMTP session using the SSL protocol. The mail is then transferred using SMTP. Normal MX records are used to determine target mail servers. WorkHorse will act as a client or server. POP3 implementation for WorkHorse is scheduled for the future. General Comments about SSL WorkHorse has built into it a level of implementation of SSL. It will talk to Netsite secure servers using SSL. It will also talk to the MarketNet secure server using SSL. The difference between WorkHorse and NetScape is that WorkHorse does not validate the server certificate. See Info about experimental serving How do you get it http://images.mkn.co.uk/zipfiles/horse.zip is a zip file. It is around 350K and expands to around 700K.
