DirectSound Xtra is a Lingo Xtra which enables the use of Microsoft's DirectSound API in Director applications. The DirectSound API provides low-latency mixing, hardware acceleration and direct access to sound devices. It is only available for the Windows 95 operating system.

This new version of DirectSound Xtra utilizes Microsoft's revolutionary DirectSound APIs.You can mix as many sounds as you want, get and change the sound's position, volume, panning and frequency, and also control 3D sounds and retrieve the hardware capabilities of the sound card. We have also improved and optimized the Xtra so that you can obtain optimum performance.

You can test-drive the Xtra, by downloading an amazing new demo which demonstrates some functions of the Xtra. This demo implements the DirectSound Xtra by allowing you to mix up to 6 channels with volume, panning and frequency control. You will also be able to manipulate the 3D position of two of the audio channels. And if that's not enough, we threw in a "Record and Play" keyboard filled with major league drum samples. Do Not Forget - this is only a demo. The real thing is Awesome!
